Microbiome Joint-Workshop

The rapidly growing field of microbiome research has revealed the surprising and wide-ranging impact of the microbial world on human health, from gut diseases, to paediatric illnesses, and psychiatric disorders.
The Microbiome Joint-Workshop organised by BIGHEART brought together over 20 interdisciplinary experts from scientific, engineering and medical domains to discuss the latest developments in microbiome research and brainstorm ideas targeted at potential collaborative projects, matching clinical needs with state-of-the-art technology platforms.
“Looking at the great presentations today, I am convinced that there is enough critical mass in this field, and we should collaborate in a synergistic way,” said Prof. Lim Chwee Teck, BIGHEART Acting Director. Selected outstanding project proposals emerging from this workshop will be awarded with a seed grant.
