Professor Lim Chwee Teck is the inaugural NUS Society (NUSS) Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Founding Director of the Singapore Health Technologies Consortium. His research interests include mechanobiology of human diseases, microfluidic technologies for diagnosis and precision therapy, and soft wearable technology for healthcare applications. He has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed journal papers and delivered more than 390 plenary/keynote/invited talks. He is an elected Fellow of the AIMBE, IAMBE, Academy of Engineering, Singapore and Singapore National Academy of Sciences. He is also an elected member of the World Council of Biomechanics. He currently sits on the editorial boards of over 20 international journals. Professor Lim is a serial entrepreneur having co-founded and six startups.
Professor Lim and his team have garnered more than 100 research awards and honours including Highly Cited Researcher 2019, IP Champion, WIPO-IPOS IP Awards 2019, HFSP Award 2017, International Precision Medicine Conference Prize 2017, ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award and Asian Scientists 100 in 2016, Vladimir K. Zworykin Award 2015, Credit Suisse Technopreneur of the Year Award and Wall Street Journal Asian Innovation Award (Gold) 2012, President’s Technology Award 2011 and the IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award in 2010 and 2016 among others.
