Next frontier in precision medicine

Prof. Dean Ho – Director of Singapore Institute for Neurotechnology (SINAPSE) and BIGHEART faculty – was recently interviewed by Asian Scientist magazine in their “Asia’s Scientific Trailblazers” feature article, where he briefly talked about his journey from aspiring lawyer to biomedical engineer and inventor.
Prof Ho. explained his work on nanodiamonds for improved drug delivery, and his work on artificial intelligence (AI) to achieve drug synergy and optimisation during combinatorial drug treatment. He also discussed the practical challenges of precision medicine, such as implementation in the clinic, patient compliance and the regulatory process.
