A dream for a prosthetic user is to be able to feel the warmth, sense the texture and hardness of a material, and has the capability of self-healing. The Asynchronous Coded Electronic Skin (ACES) developed by iHealthtech Principal Investigator Asst Prof Benjamin Tee and his research team have made the dream possible with their latest scientific innovation. The technology can also be extended for applications such as light-emitting screen for wearable electronic devices.
