Precision Medicine Joint-Workshop

  • October 06, 2018

Precision medicine is transforming the diagnosis and treatment of ailments such as cancer, diabetes and genetic disorders.

Following the successful Microbiome Joint-Workshop in July, the Joint Workshop on Precision Medicine and Personalised Therapeutics – co-organised by BIGHEART and National University Health System (NUHS) – was held today, bringing together 25 interdisciplinary experts to discuss the latest developments in precision medicine and propose collaborative projects.

The speakers presented a broad range of topics, from the 10-year roadmap of precision medicine in Singapore, to the importance of clinical data management, and to the latest technologies for single-cell analysis.

“It is great to see that there is so much interest, and I can already see that some projects have the potential for bigger funding,” said Prof. Lim Chwee Teck, BIGHEART Acting Director. The seed grant call will be announced in about a month’s time, and selected outstanding project proposals emerging from this workshop will be awarded
