Advancing Science and Impact: Prof Lim Chwee Teck and Dr Andy Tay Recognised with National Awards

iHealthtech is excited to share recent achievements from our Director, NUSS Chair Prof Lim Chwee Teck, and one of our youngest PIs, Dr Andy Kah Ping Tay, Presidential Young Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Both were honoured with prestigious national science and technology awards:

Prof Lim Chwee Teck – President’s Science Award 2025
The Young Scientist Award is a national award that recognizes outstanding young researchers who have shown great promise in their fields of science and technology. Dr Tay is awarded for advancing biomaterial-based therapies that modulate immune responses to improve diabetic wound healing and enhance cancer immunotherapy outcomes.

The President’s Science Award is the country’s highest honour in science, presented to individuals or teams who have made exceptional contributions in fundamental research that expand knowledge or break new ground in scientific methods. Prof Lim is recognised for transforming our understanding of cancer metastasis—revealing how circulating tumour cells withstand the harsh physical stresses of the blood circulatory system—paving the way for advances in cancer monitoring and diagnostic innovations that benefit patients and the healthcare community. Prof Lim was previously awarded the President’s Technology Award in 2011.
