Professor Lim Chwee Teck is a pioneering academic leader and entrepreneur, serving as the inaugural NUS Society (NUSS) Chair Professor in Biomedical Engineering and Founding Director of the Singapore Health Technologies Consortium. A prolific researcher at the forefront of human disease mechanobiology, microfluidics, and wearable healthcare technologies, he has co-authored over 520 peer‑reviewed publications and delivered more than 550 plenary, keynote, and invited talks worldwide. Translating innovation to impact, he has co‑founded six startups, including one that achieved a successful IPO in 2018.

His global standing is reflected in his election as a Member/Fellow of the National Academy of Engineering (US), Royal Society (UK), Royal Academy of Engineering (UK), National Academy of Inventors (US), International Union for Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM), American Institute for Medical & Biological Engineering (AIMBE), International Academy of Medical & Biological Engineering (IAMBE), ASEAN Academy of Engineering & Technology, Academy of Engineering, Singapore, Singapore National Academy of Science, and the Institution of Engineers, Singapore.

Professor Lim and his team have garnered over 120 research awards and honours that recognise his scientific excellence, mentorship, and translational impact. These include the President’s Science Award, President’s Technology Award, Otto Schmitt Award, NUS Distinguished Alumni Award, Nature Lifetime Achievement Award for Mentoring in Science, Asia’s Most Influential Scientist, Highly Cited Researcher, IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards, ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award, Asian Scientists 100, Vladimir K. Zworykin Award, and the Wall Street Journal Asian Innovation Award (Gold). Collectively, his achievements reflect sustained, field‑changing contributions spanning discovery, clinical translation, and commercialisation.
