Prof Anne Catrine T. Martinsen | Sunnaas Rehabliation Cluster – An Overview of Ongoing Research and Innovation Activities in Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital
Anne Catrine T. Martinsen is professor at the Dept of Rehabilitation Science and Health Technology, Oslo Metropolitan University, and Director for Centre for Research and Education at Sunnaas Rehabilitation hospital since 2020. Martinsen is a medical physicist, holds a master’s in health administration and a PhD. Martinsen has previously been working at the Oslo University hospital as head of the Diagnostic physics department, and as a.prof in physics at the Department of Physics, UiO. She initiated, established and managed a national physicist service at Oslo University Hospital 2005-2020, providing services to more than 40 radiological and nuclear medicine departments, private institutes and private hospitals in Norway, covering the full range of imaging modalities and associated technologies; CT, X-ray, intervention, PET, SPECT, and MRI.  The Oslo Imaging Technology Research and Innovation Centre was initiated, established and managed by Martinsen in 2018-20.  Martinsen’s research has been focused on development, testing and clinical implementation of new diagnostic imaging software and hardware technologies, advanced image analysis, medical technology and rehabilitation medicine and technology.

Dr Thomas Glott | Pressure Monitoring in Vivo: From Wired to Wireless
Thomas Glott is Medical Director of the Department of Spinal Cord Injury at Sunnaas Hospital. He is a specialist in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine with more than 30 years of clinical experience, primarily working with patients with spinal cord injury. His research has focused on the clinical application of novel technologies, including sensors and robotics. In particular, he has worked with implantable bladder pressure microsensors to improve bladder control in patients with spinal cord injury. He is also interested in wearable multimodal sensors for long-term monitoring and in exploring the use of machine-learning algorithms to improve our understanding of physiology and identify potential clinical applications.

A/Prof Matthijs Wouda | Advanced Technologies in Neurorehabilitation: Clinical Perspectives from Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital
Dr. Matthijs F. Wouda is a physiotherapist and movement scientist with a PhD from the faculty of medicine at Oslo University, Norway (2018). He has been head of the Clinical Physiology Laboratory at Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital since 2006. At his hospital he leads the research group for Robotic and Sensor Technology. Wouda is an affiliate assistant professor at Oslo Metropolitan University, at the Department of Rehabilitation Science and Health Technology. He has been publishing several peer-reviewed papers in the field of rehabilitation medicine, mainly with the focus on exercise physiology and rehabilitation technology. (2026)
